YUXIN QIAN

I am originally from China, a student who graduated from Drew University, majoring in studio art, with minors in psychology and creative writing. I also enrolled in Drew’s BA/MAT graduate education program. In further exploration of art and art education, I joined Art and Art Education with the Initial Certification program at Teachers College, Columbia University. Art helped me see what is essential in my daily life, promoted personal understanding, especially in my personal identity, and bolstered my job interest in being an art teacher. Art exploration and learning taught me to respect cultural diversity and become proud of my own Chinese and American bi-cultural identity. I hope all the people can celebrate who they are through art.
