Week 4 – Digital Storytelling Animation

Storytelling By Animation

I used the stop motion app to create this animation. For all the elements in it, wheel is a found material and sunflower seed is something that I bought to it. For other elements, I draw them. when I have all the elements, I move them slowly across the page while record their moment by taking photos. I think my stop motion will be better if I have a tripod stand.

Why I pick those elements? I think the wheel is represent in mechanical development, and the grass, sunflower seed, represented the nature giftedness. I feel like we all can have a beautiful nature to enjoy if we develop less mechanical things. We all should start to pay attention to our environment issues and protect goods that provided by the nature.

Through this module, I feel like everybody have that creative potential and from this animation, it can expand ones artistic practice both in traditional art and digital media. I feel like creating short animation can be widely used in the art curriculum, this provides the fun in both tradition and new form of art. Also, from incorporating this class, I can get to know everybody (students) background and what they are interested in from many perspectives.
